24/10/25, 05:30
A Greener Playing Field for India
On this International Day of Climate Action, the world turns its eyes to the collective effort required to safeguard our planet. For a nation like India, where the vibrancy of life is matched by its diverse ecosystems, today is significant. It is a moment to reflect on our unique challenges and to harness our strengths in the global fight against climate change.
Yet, within this challenge lies an unparalleled opportunity. As a nation of over a billion people, home to some of the world’s most passionate sports fans, India has the power to turn the tide.
Our Mission at Climate 11 (C11)
Climate 11 (C11) is dedicated to championing environmental sustainability within Indian sports and beyond. Sport is a universal language, one that can inspire passion, unity, and change. We believe it also carries a profound responsibility to protect the environments in which it is played.
Every year, we unite a powerful coalition of athletes, journalists, industry leaders, and advocates to support this vital change. Through focused dialogue and decisive action, we are raising awareness and building a greener future for Indian sport.
A landmark moment in this journey was the 2025 Delhi Climate 11 Summit, where a new playbook for India's sporting future was launched: The Delhi Charter. This pioneering manifesto outlines a clear and actionable strategy for tackling climate change through the immense influence of sports in India. It is a commitment to sustainable practices, from the cricket grounds to the football pitches, and a call to action for the entire ecosystem.
This International Day of Climate Action is not just a reminder of the challenge; it is a call to action. The Delhi Charter is part of our response. By uniting the power of sport with the urgency of the climate crisis, we can transform our challenges into our greatest victory.
The game has changed. The goal is clear.
Be part of the change.
